One of our concierge service's absolute favourites, in the exclusive district of Kensington, this charming boutique establishment has character to spare. Every one of its 57 rooms is singularly different in terms of interior design and layout, boasting paintings and antiques from the owner’s personal collection. Many too overlook Kensington Gardens. Each suite is entirely unique, offering a range of grand statements in colour and style – adorned with fine fabrics, fresh flowers, period furnishings, and rare works of art, an unforgettable stay is guaranteed.
The levels of personal service are also the stuff of legend with every member of staff faithfully upholding the ethos that “no request is too large, no detail too small” - the concierge even arranged to ship a World War II tank to Dallas for a guest!
Amenities
With four completely individual eating/bar venues this Milestone hotel is not your typical boutique hotel. Throw in a spa and swimming pool and its amenities really belie its 57 bedroom size.
Cheneston's Restaurant
The finest modern British cuisine is served in one of the finest classic British dining rooms at Chesneston's Restaurant. With Mahogany panelled walls, lead windows and an array of original art work the restaurant is an experience through and through.
The Library Room
The Library room could easily be located in a 19th country manor rather than in a central London hotel. Its draped curtains, aged books, mahogany selves and wing back chairs provide a wonderful setting for the most traditional of afternoon teas.
Stables Bar
The Stables Bar, as per its name sake, used to be a stable for horses belonging to the Royal Family. The bar has remained true to its past and is a delightfully themed as a homage to all things equestrian.
The Conservatory
The informal conservatory leads out from stables bar and really gives diners and drinkers alike an al fresco experience in its bright and classy environment.
The Spa and Swimming Pool
Despite being a boutique hotel the Milestone offers its guests a spa, a gymnasium and a resistance swimming pool; that with its current jets allows guests to swim all day without having to turn at the end of the pool. The spa is home to one of the most highly regarded therapists in the world - Fiona Keane, who has a client list full of celebrity stars.

Superior Queen | 16.5sqm
The Milestones luxury offering starts at the 16.5sqm Superior Queen rooms. These inviting rooms are warmly decorated with fine fabrics and antique furniture. Guests are always welcomed with fresh flowers and fruit.
Deluxe | King or Twin | 20sqm
Averaging 20sqm these rooms, even more opulently decorated than the superiors, have space for a desk and an intimate seating area. Their superbly appointed bath rooms are filled with luxurious Penhaligon toiletries.
Deluxe Studio | King or Twin
The Deluxe Studios can fit every taste - each one having its own theme ranging from a regal Kensington Palace style, to an elegant theme based on the French artist Matisse. Complementary canapés are delivered to the rooms daily too.
Junior Suites | King or Twin | Courtyard*
Creativity is given a free reign in the Junior Suites. The spectacular Safari Suite has a canvas draped roof that is supported by natural bamboo, whilst the furniture is upholstered in tasteful animal print fabrics. The Mistinguett suite stands out too with its beautiful modern contemporary style and delightful courtyard.

The Master Suites are something to behold too, each one possessing character in abundance. The Prince of Wales Suite houses a fully-fledged coat of amour as well as a huge fabric tapestry upon one of its walls. The Club Suite meanwhile is a tribute to an old gentleman's club with its own pool table inside. On the other end of the masculine scale is The Kensington Garden suite – That, with its more feminine tones, feels like somewhere Queen Victoria would have stayed herself.
The Tudor Suite | Butler
There aren’t many luxury hotel suites in London that feature a grade II listed (of national importance) gallery within their accommodation, but the Tudor Suite at the Milestone does with its Minstrels gallery - a curvaceous music gallery designed by Sir George Frampton RA (1860-1928). The suite also boasts 3.3m high ceilings and a cacophony of architectural details, not forgetting a gold leafed four poster bed
The Milestone hotel benefits from six luxury serviced two bedroom apartments at its Kensington location, all gaining access to the amenities on offer at the hotel and, thankfully, all are as decadently furnished too. Every one has its own kitchen and dining area and vary in size from 70-102sqm - they make the ideal place to house a family during longer stays.

With the amount of unique and original features at the Milestone hotel it was not easy for our concierge service to pick a favourite feature, but the elegant conservatory in the courtyard gets our thumbs up.
The quiet sanctuary feels a world away from busy London, making it the perfect place for a nibble, drink or even a spot of sabrage - if you ask the bar man politely enough he will teach you how to open a bottle of champagne with a sword!
