Best Asian Restaurants in London

Dinings - Japanese
22 Harcourt Street, W1H 4HH
Located in a small, exclusive space on a side street near Marylebone station, Dinings is the work of ex Nobu chef Masaki Sugisaki. What makes the restaurant really stand out is its bold mix of Japanese Izakaya style with modern European cuisine. As you would expect the Sushi is superb and so too the Wagyu beef. Decor wise the restaurant is a contemporary and almost brutal affair with exposed concrete.

Umu - Japanese
14-16 Bruton Place, London, W1J 6LX
With six Michelin-stars to his name, you know any restaurant by Marlon Abela will be good. Umu brings multi course kaiseki menus of Japan’s former imperial capital Kyoto to London's Mayfair. Their signature dish of melt in the mouth Wagyu beef is not to be missed.

Sumosan - Japanese
26 Albemarle Street, London W1S 4, 020 7495
Hidden away on Albemarle street, Sumosan doesn't take the headlines like some of its peers in Nobu and Roka with its inoffensive interior. It does however win an array of plaudits for it extravagant food. If your looking for an impressive alternative to Nobu this is your place.

The Araki - Japanese
12 New Burlington Street, London, W1S 3BH
Some chefs are happy to manage restaurants from afar but not Mitsuhiro Araki, who moved himself and his three Michelin-tarred Tokyo restaurant to London in 2014. A tiny restaurant with a cypress counter that seats just nine diners in two sittings per evening. The Yellow finTuna is Araki's speciality, of course, with generous helpings of caviar and truffles.

Yashin Sushi - Japanese
1A Argyll Road, W8 7DB
Located on a discreet side street in Kensington Yashin Sushi surprises you with its modern, eclectic interior. The green tiled sushi bar is perfectly complemented with Victorian details and striking lights. Food wise, the restaurant serves up some of the best sushi in town, notably their nigiri which is finished off with truffle oil as opposed to soy sauce - the chefs feel that soy overpowers the taste of the fish.

Sake no Hana - Japanese
23 St James's Street, SW1A 1HA
Located in St James, and part of the Hakkasan Group this is an amazing Japanese restaurant with a striking futuristic design. The restaurant brings a more casual, pocket friendly affair to the groups portfolio yet still offers fabulous food and top notch service.

Roka - Japanese
37 Charlotte Street, W1T 1RR
Located on one of London's prime culinary streets Roka has some of the most exquisite Japanese cuisine in all of London. Inside the restaurant is centred around an enormous grill - giving diners more than a glimpse of their fresh food being prepared. The Sashimi is particularly good.

Hakkasan - Chinese
8 Hanway Place, W1T 1HD
Hakkassan has been at the forefront of London’s Cantonese cuisine for over 10 years and to this day the restaurant one remains of the best. Its decor is still fashionable and striking too with dark wood fixtures and moody lighting. A whole host of Dim Sum is on offer from the flavoursome meat to fresh seafood.

Blakes Restaurant - Chinese
33 Roland Gardens, SW7 3PF
Blakes hotel was the first of a new breed of fashionable ultra-luxurious boutique hotels in London’s Chelsea. Its restaurant continues the hotels upmarket affair with its timeless design and walls laden with exotic climes and oddities from all over the world. The food is just as interesting too, with a perfect amalgamation of eastern and western cuisine.
