The Berkeley - Luxury Fashion hotel in London

Contemporary Chic, intuitive service and a rooftop pool make the Berkeley hotel one of London's best. 

Situated in London's Knightsbridge overlooking Hyde Park, the Berkeley hotel offers the height of contemporary luxury. In fact it is almost a canvas for world renowned designers to show case their work: David Collins redesigned the Blue Bar using original wood panelling designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, The stunning Balcony King rooms were designed by Robert Angell, The daily floral centrepiece comes fresh from McQueens and even the cakes served during afternoon tea are couture fashion inspired.

It is not all glitter and glam though - the hotel is home to some of the largest rooms in London. It can also boast two world class restaurants in Marcus Wareing's Michelin-starred venue and Pierre Koffmann’s cutting-edge French bistro. However the cherry on top has to be the rooftop spa and swimming pool - one of the only luxury hotels in London to offer one

Amenities

The Berkeley hotel has a decorated list of amenities that any 5 star hotel in London would be proud of. The ground floor hosts two world renowned chefs whilst the roof hosts one of the only hotel rooftop pools in London. The Berkeley's fashionable twist on the traditional afternoon tea in the Caramel Room is also noteworthy.

The Blue Bar

Created by the legendary designer David Collins, the striking Blue Bar brings the hotels original period features such as the marble roof and wooden panelling to the forefront of 21st century style.

Koffmann's Restaurant

Koffmann’s restaurant is an informal bistro style venue, serving cutting-edge food from famous French chef Pierre Koffmann. On the menu you will find creative light dishes such as spaghetti made from quid, alongside the traditional classics.

Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley

One of the most famed restaurants in London, Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley offers modern European cuisine served to the highest standards. The interior emphasises class with its rich plum walls and contemporary gloss black highlights.

 

The Caramel Room

The Caramel Room offers guests a home from home from which to enjoy the Berkeley's fashionable take on afternoon tea, or, alternatively, a light brunch. The venue, as its namesake, is a warm cosy room with all day dining.

Rooftop Pool and Spa

Located on the 7th floor of the hotel the open air pool (enclosed on rainy days) is one of the most relaxing venues in London. A whole host of treatments are available, or guests can simply relax in a sun lounger and soak in the views of Hyde Park.

The Berkeley hotel has 210 rooms and suites. Each one is unique with individually selected furniture and artwork. Every category comes with fresh flowers and complimentary use of an Ipad too.

The entry level rooms are both bright and stylish with their large windows and contemporary details. The decor uses light and neutral colours with contrasting accents to create a relaxing space. Each room has a luxurious marble bathroom with bidet.

Continuing the stylish affair, the Superior King Rooms are again light and airy. They achieve an even more luxurious feel with their use of blue hues. In addition to the business desk in the Queen Rooms, they have a seating area for guests to enjoy.

The large and sumptuous deluxe rooms a peaceful oasis with more space for guests to relax in.

Balcony King Rooms | Balcony | 36sqm

Designed by Robert Angell these are some of the most opulent rooms in London. Each room has the luxury of a private roof terrace with views over London’s rooftops. Inside the subdued colours are perfectly matched with bespoke furniture to create a timeless feel.



Superior Junior Suites | 40sqm

The Superior Junior Suites have open plan living areas making them extremely comfortable for longer stays. Each one is individuality designed to the same high, contemporary standards as the Deluxe Rooms.

These suites provide slightly more traditional, but equally well-equipped, accommodation. The marble bathrooms all have walk-in showers, bath tubs and double vanities.

The double aspect Corner Suites are flooded with natural light. They blend traditional and contemporary styles to create a serene, yet dramatic feel. All guests are greeted to the suites with complimentary seasonal fruits and hand-made chocolates.

The Helen Green and Robert Angell designed Berkeley suites are a 72sqm piece of heaven with their fresh white silk walls and bright design. All the fashionable furniture is hand-crafted in Britain. Their bathrooms benefit from a TV and the suites also have a guest water closet.

Situated on the corners of the hotel the Conservatory Suites are a beauty to behold. Each one has a fantastic entertaining space that opens onto a more than generous roof terrace. Decor wise they continue the hotels fashionable approach without being fussy. They are exceptionally bright with the use of light colours and an abundance of windows.

The brand new Opus Suite opened in September 2013. Designed by world famous interior designer Andre Fu to combine both expansive spaces, absorbing details and natural materials. As a result the suite is a calming, clutter free space with a homely feel. Your very own private apartment in the heart of Knightsbridge with all the perks of staying at one of London's finest hotels, epitomising the essence of the newly renovated Berkeley. The Apartment occupies the quiet south east corner of the hotel, designed by John Heath it features floor to ceiling french windows, living room with dining area, kitchen as well as his and hers bathrooms. The Apartment can be connected to two further suites via a private hallway. 

 

Group Layout Options

The Berkeley hotel is a great and secure option to host groups. Whole floors with up to 20 rooms and 4 suites can be privately hired and sectioned off using key cards. For smaller groups sections of hallways can be partitioned off too. There is also plenty of event space ranging from small private dining areas to the grand ballroom.

It would be hard to ignore one of the only hotel rooftop pools in London as our concierge service's favourite feature. It is an absolutely unique offering allowing guests to relax and sunbathe whilst enjoying views of Hyde Park. Not that that’s the only benefit, the British design and herb garden makes it feel as though you could be in the middle of the countryside - when in reality you are only a stone’s throw away from the world famous department stores of Harrods and Harvey Nichols.
